About Lamborghini
The Legend Begins
Founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, Automobili Lamborghini was born from a vision to create the perfect grand touring car. What started as a challenge to Ferrari became a legacy of automotive excellence.
From the iconic Miura to the revolutionary Countach, and from the legendary Diablo to today's Huracán and Aventador, Lamborghini has consistently pushed the boundaries of design and performance.
Ferruccio Lamborghini
Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993) was an Italian industrialist who founded Lamborghini in 1963. Originally a successful tractor manufacturer, his passion for luxury cars led him to create one of the world's most prestigious automotive brands.
Born in Renazzo, Italy, Ferruccio showed an early aptitude for mechanics. After serving in World War II, he started Lamborghini Trattori, which became one of Italy's largest agricultural equipment manufacturers.
His dissatisfaction with his Ferrari 250 GT led to a famous confrontation with Enzo Ferrari, ultimately inspiring him to create his own line of luxury sports cars that would rival the best in the world.
